The Howard Cullum ALLY Award
The Arc of Virginia membership created this award in 2015 acknowledging a community member who embodies leadership, courage, commitment, passion, and perseverance in advocacy.
Inaugural award dedication to Howard Cullum
For the past 40 years, Mr. Cullum has demonstrated leadership and a keen ‘eye on the prize’ approach in his advocacy for all Virginians with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He has spent a lifetime pushing for incremental change within the I/DD services system, which has required selflessness, passion, and commitment that is seldom found in a single person. He exemplifies the mission of The Arc of Virginia and we are grateful for his tremendous contributions.
The Catalyst for Change Award
Given annually to a community member or organization that has contributed to landmark improvements in the lives of Virginians with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
2016 recipients Alex Campbell & Sean Campbell
Ten-year old Alex Campbell aspires to work in education and civil law one day.
